Covid-19 travel restrictions are currently in place for people coming to Tasmania, and there are also limited flights available. Before you submit an application for a permit to import an animal into Tasmania it is recommended that you first ensure you have the appropriate ticket for travel and have received advice as to quarantine requirements.

The private keeping of any imported wildlife other

**Please note: DPIPWE has been made aware of public concerns regarding the importation of the Red Crowned Parakeet/Kakariki (Cyanoramphus novaezelandiae). The Department is currently undertaking a review of the suitability of this species for import.
