Commercial Brushtail Possum Hunter's Permit Application Form

​A Commercial Brushtail Possum Hunter's Permit (download below) authorises the holder to sell brushtail possum and products of Brushtail possum. This permit does not allow the ‘take’ of Brushtail possum, which must now occur under a landowner/manager’s Crop Protection Permit for Brushtail possum. Permits are not available for unoccupied Crown Land.

The sale of meat can only be made to an accredited Game Meat Processor (human consumption) or an accredited Pet Food Processor under the Primary Produce Safety Act 2011.

Untreated and unmarked skins may only be sold to the holder of a  Fauna Dealers Skins Licence; please contact the Wildlife Management Branch, DPIPWE on 6165 4305 with queries related to this licence.

The Commercial Brushtail Possum Season is from 1 January until 31 December each year. Permits commence from date of issue by the Department.

Applicants need to provide:

a) A completed application form (which includes Firearms Licence number and date of birth).

b) Payment of fees.
