The Fruit Fly Grower Transitional Assistance Package is available to commercial growers from 1 October 2018.
The Fruit Fly Grower Transitional Assistance Package provides targeted support to commercial growers impacted by the Fruit Fly detection in Tasmania in early 2018.
It offers grant funding under the Grower Transitional Assistance Program (GTAP) and a Fruit Fly Concessional Loan Scheme.
Fruit Fly Concessional Loan Scheme
The Fruit Fly Concessional Loan Scheme is being delivered by the Department of State Growth. It provides support to affected businesses for:
necessary to restart, continue and redevelop operations whilst recovery occurs, and
Provision of short term working capital for the immediate season.
Commercial growers may be considered for additional support subject to a meeting with the Department of State Growth’s Senior Manager Rural Finance to consider the specific circumstances and financial situation.

Grower Transitional Assistance Program
The Grower Transitional Assistance Program opens on 1 October 2018 and closes on 10 January 2019.
Applicants may make more than one claim, however final claims MUST be submitted by 5pm on 10 January 2019. No claims will be accepted after this date.
Information for applicants
The Grower Transitional Assistance Program is for primary producers (growers) who have suffered direct impacts as a result of the fruit fly detection in 2018, and were operating in the established Control Areas at the time of the detection, as outlined in maps found on the Department’s website visit: dpipwe.tas.gov.au/declarations
