Control Area and Infected Area Revocations
Following the detection of Queensland fruit fly in Tasmania in January 2018 the Department of Primary Industries, Parks, Water and Environment formally declared Control Areas and Infected Areas for the restriction of movement, transport and supply of host produce of Queensland fruit fly.
With the confirmation of the successful eradication of Queensland fruit fly those restrictions have now been lifted.
Northern Tasmania Control and Infected Area restrictions were lifted on 9 January 2019. The Control Area restrictions for the Furneaux Group of Islands and the Infected Area restrictions at Lady Barron were lifted on 30 March 2019.
