The Australian Government's On-farm Emergency Water Infrastructure Rebate Scheme will be implemented in Tasmania over the three financial years 2018-19 to 2020-2021.
Eligible primary producers affected by drought are able to access a 25% rebate on the costs associated with the purchase and installation of on-farm water infrastructure to provide water for their livestock and better prepare for future drought, up to a maximum rebate of $25,000 per applicant.
The Scheme commenced operating in May 2019, for water infrastructure purchased on or after 1 July 2018, and will close to new applications on 31 March 2021 or when Tasmania's funding allocation is exhausted, whichever occurs first. No rebates will be provided beyond the allocated funding.
The Scheme is being administered in Tasmania through the AgriGrowth Tasmania Division of the Department of Primary Industries, Parks, Water and Environment on behalf of the Australian Government. The Scheme is funded by the Australian Government.
Please Note: Eligibility has been extended to include (i) the Clarence and Brighton municipalities, and parts of the Northern Midlands and Central Highlands, as shown on the Eligible Area Map; and (ii) emergency water infrastructure to provide water for permanent horticultural plantings, as detailed in the Infrastructure Rebate Scheme Guidelines.
