Grants supporting both the commercial seafood and the recreational fishing sectors in Tasmania have been announced.
The first round of the Better Fishing Grants
opens on 12 August 2021 and will provide a total of $100,000 with individual grants of up to $10,000.
The aim is to seek proposals to provide, upgrade or retrofit facilities and equipment that enhance recreational marine fishing access or quality of experience.
The Seafood Processor Grant Scheme
will provide a total of $700,000, with a maximum of $80,000 per applicant, to support processors to realign their business operations to access key export markets. The funding will assist the post-harvest sector to look at supplying different products to new and established markets.
Applications for Seafood Processor Grants open on 19 August.
