    The fallow deer was introduced to Tasmania in the 19th Century and has since been managed as a hunting resource while minimising their negative impacts on crops and natural values.The Tasmanian Government manages the wild deer populations to provide benefits for a wide range of interests including land owners, hunters, conservation and other interest groups.The attached document collates current management policies and practices relating to the management of wild fallow deer in Tasmania.
