Release of the draft amended River Clyde Catchment Water Management Plan for public exhibition
The draft amended River Clyde Catchment Water Management Plan has been prepared in accordance with Part 4 of the Water Management Act 1999 and, as far as reasonably practical, is consistent with:
(a) any relevant State Policy;
(b) relevant planning schemes;
(c) Part 6 of the Public Health Act 1997 and guidelines issued under Part 8 of that Act;
(d) such other plans, policies or guidelines as are prescribed under the regulations; and
(e) the objectives of the Water Management Act 1999.
The draft amended Plan is the product of the review and amendment of the current River Clyde Water Management Plan 2005 and provides a number of proposed practical improvements in the management framework for the water resources of the River Clyde catchment, in accordance with the objectives of the Water Management Act 1999 and the State Policy on Water Quality Management 1997.
The draft amended Plan relates to the water resources of the River Clyde catchment (below the outlet to Lake Crescent), being tributaries of the River Clyde and the River itself, and the groundwater resources of this catchment.

The draft amended Plan will be publicly displayed until close of business 20 March 2017. A copy of the draft amended Plan is displayed at the offices of the Central Highlands Council in Bothwell and Hamilton until close of business 20 March 2017.
A public meeting to discuss the draft amended Plan and the process for making written representation has been scheduled for 10.30 am on Tuesday 31 January at the Central Highlands Council Chambers, 19 Alexander Street, Bothwell.
