Animal Welfare Guidelines - Poultry

The Tasmanian Animal Welfare Guideline for poultry is the Primary Industries Standing Committee - Model Code of Practice for the Welfare of Animals - Domestic Poultry 4th edition, SCARM Report 83.

This document contains nationally agreed guidelines for the care and management of a range of domestic poultry species. It covers the provision of food and water, accommodation, inspections, health and euthanasia.

Note that some standards in this document relating to housing, stocking density, food and water are legally enforceable for commercial layer poultry under the Animal Welfare (Domestic Poultry) Regulations 2013.
